Papa's Pumpkin Patch

So we were really excited to go down to Papa's Pumpkin Patch down in Bismarck. We took off yesterday after church which was perfect b/c the girls slept the whole way down. We got there right around three and were welcomed by a Closed (due to rain) sign. The sad thing is that it had stopped raining around 1pm. So all we got to do was take some pictures by the signs. We still made the most of our time in Bismarck and stopped by Kohl's for some early Christmas shopping. We ate ate Pancheros (my favorite mexican restaurant in North Dakota...similar to Chipotle) and then heading to the park to let Kaiya run around for a while before we headed back home. Here are some pictures of our events....

Allie's shots

Allie got her two month shots today as well as her two month (10 week) stats:

She currently weighs 13lb 12 oz. and is 24 inches. She is in the 95-100 percentile for her weight and is 90-95% for her height. Overall the dr. said she is a very healthy girl :)

Oh yeah, she completely hated her shots and turned a color purple I had never seen from her. She also has slept almost all day, and I'm hoping she will sleep all night.

Officiating

The last three weeks have been completely crazy. I started officiating high school volleyball on Tues/Thurs/Sat. and then do coed adult rec league on Wed night. Tim has had to take the girls into the evening, and I know that it has been tiring for both of us. I really enjoy it although and have found that if I have to work part-time it is a job that I can totally get into. I used to just do it for the money...now I actually want to be good at it and have found myself getting better in the last few weeks. The bummer is that it is over in October and then I am going to have to get a different job to help meet our budget. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet. There are tons of jobs here but they all pay minimum wage...how in the world is a family suppose to survive on minimum wage. Especially with all that is going on in our economy right now. I've already seen the increase in our utilities and they say it is only going to get worse. I have to admit that I'm a little stressed out on how we are expected to make it when our grocery/gas/ and utilities have doubled since last year. I've never been much for politics in the past but this political race has my attention. There is so much more to deal with as an adult. Can't we just be kids again playing in our back yard...totally oblivious to all that is going on around. I know that God is in control, and that He is looking out for us....I just wish I could get my head and my heart to match up.

Yesterday we went over to Maria Olson's house for a playdate. It was a house full. It was so much fun just to get out of the house and get together with other Christian moms. The kids all did really well playing with each other. I know Kaiya LOVED it. Thanks for putting it together ladies it was wonderful!

A New Hairdo?!

So Kaiya's bangs are way too long; but I don't want to cut them because I'd like them to grow out. So now we are in the awkward transition stage. If I put them in barrettes or clips they just fall out. She finally let me put them in ponies. Well they lasted 1/2 a day until she discovered them and pulled them out. (Friday, Sept. 5th)

Allie and Grandpa. Doing what we do best!

Thursday, September 4
Grandpa Carlson got rained out of work so he came over and spent some quality time with the girls. This is Allie and Grandpa's first picture together. I thought it was appropriate.

So tired...

Tuesday, September 2nd

This was Kaiya's first time falling asleep in the high chair. It was so incredibly cute.

Labor Day Weekend Pictures

So we had our pictures taken today. I really wanted to get updated pictures of the girls together and we decided to do a couple of family shots. I thought they turned out pretty good since Kaiya really wasn't in the mood for picture taking. She is starting to get a little cold and has/had a runny nose. Allie did awesome though. She was sleeping when we got there but perked up and was such a little poser. So fun. It was a great day to be together.
